Depression a Common Ailment

Depressive disorders are common, affecting about 19 million Americans, according to the National Institute of Mental Health. More than 80 percent of those who are treated for depression improve. If you have persistent sad or anxious feelings, have lost interest in activities you once enjoyed or have changes in your sleeping and eating patterns, talk to your health care provider.
