Your child should get regular checkups to track development and growth. Talk to your health care provider about how frequently you should bring your child in. According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, a typical schedule recommends checkups at 2 to 4 weeks; then at 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 months. Older children should be seen yearly from ages 2 to 6, and then every other year through age 18.
